Well, it looks like the decision was scrap....

According to the photographer:

"As a shipbuilder I have much more experience putting together vessels and offshore oil platforms, so having these beautiful ships being scrapped is a sad sight for me as well. I like to think of it this way, the high quality steel will be recycled for use in future ships, oil rigs and buildings so the Moose will soon be sailing or standing somewhere instead of rusting away in Philadelphia or James River."
